e University of Minnesota Extension, working with the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, trains volunteers to educate the public with research-based information on the best practices in consumer horticulture and environmental stewardship. Each year, University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener volunteers give more than 135,000 hours to their communities—a public value worth more than $2.9 million. Master Gardener activities benefit schools, community gardens, youth programs, environmental education programs and farmers markets. These enthusiastic and highly trained volunteers make Minnesota communities more sustainable, beautiful, knowledgeable and fun.

🐝🦋 Calling all pollinator lovers! 🦇🌸

The Clay County Master Gardeners are excited to spread the word about the Moorhead Parks & Recreation Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz! Moorhead Parks and Recreation is joining parks across the country this September in a fun community science challenge to document as many pollinator species as possible!

Why does a BioBlitz matter? Events like this generate real data that helps researchers and land managers understand which pollinators are active in our local parks and green spaces.
