โ›๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ 4th Grade Gold Rush Adventure! ๐ŸŒŸโ›๏ธ

Our 4th-grade students recently stepped back in time and experienced life during the California Gold Rush! Through a variety of hands-on activities, students learned about the challenges, opportunities, and adventures faced by the people who traveled west in search of gold.
Students tried their luck panning for gold, practiced writing with ink and feather quills, created their own newsprint, and explored different methods pioneers used to travel to California. They also enjoyed making origami projects and played interactive Gold Rush board games, rolling dice to see if they could reach their destination while overcoming the many obstacles settlers faced along the journey.
This exciting day brought history to life and helped students gain a deeper understanding of an important chapter in California's past. We loved seeing their enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity throughout the experience! ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿž๏ธโœจ

๐ŸŒŸ May was a busy month in the Mountain Meadows Wellness Center! ๐ŸŒŸ

During state testing, our Wellness Center, led by Mr. Martinez, provided students with calming activities and support throughout the school day. One special activity students enjoyed was creating โ€œMindful Jarsโ€ filled with water, glue, glitter, and charms. โœจ
As students watched the glitter swirl and slowly settle, they learned how strong emotions can sometimes cloud our thoughts and how taking a moment to pause, breathe, and focus can help bring calm and peace. ๐Ÿ’™

Throughout the school year, Mr. Martinez has been available for students who may need a break during the day, a quiet space to relax, or support learning how to socialize and work positively with classmates. ๐Ÿ˜Š The Wellness Center offers students a safe and welcoming environment with mindfulness activities, calming tools, and opportunities to build important self-regulation and coping skills.

We are so grateful for the care and support provided to our students each day to help them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn! ๐ŸŒˆ

Congratulations to the Mountain Meadows 21st Century Learning Academy Mathletes!
The fourth- and fifth-grade Mathletes had an amazing showing at the Ventura County Math Council Mathlete Challenge on Saturday, April 25, at the Ventura County Office of Education.
This all-day competition brought together hundreds of students from across Ventura County for a challenging day of problem-solving, teamwork and mathematical thinking. Students competed individually and as teams, putting their skills to the test through multiple rounds of math challenges.
Mountain Meadows earned 2nd place in the fifth-grade Team Challenge and 5th place overall!
These students worked hard to prepare, often practicing during lunch and at home before the big day. Their success is a great reminder that math is not just about getting the right answer. Itโ€™s about persistence, strategy, confidence and teamwork.
Congratulations to our Mountain Meadows Mathletes, and thank you to fourth-grade teacher Elizabeth Sotelo for guiding the team and to Principal Johnson for being there Saturday to cheer them on during their big win!

Last Thursday, we were honored to take part in a special and meaningful tradition with Moorpark High School seniors! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’™

Graduating seniors returned to Mountain Meadows in their caps and gowns to visit the teachers who helped shape their journey. It was a wonderful opportunity for our former students to reconnect with their elementary teachers and reflect on how far theyโ€™ve come. โœจ

Our current students loved meeting the seniors, asking questions, and hearing about their experiences and future plans. It was inspiring for them to see what lies ahead and to make those important connections between where they are now and where they can go. ๐ŸŒŸ

We are so proud of these seniors and grateful they took the time to come back and share this moment with us. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang! ๐Ÿด
