Here is another link ( from NRDC) telling you more and giving you a way to submit a comment from their site to show your support for our CA Coastal Management Program —or your states local program…as every state’s program is now at risk!

NRDC:
The Trump administration is moving quickly to open up California’s coastal waters to Big Oil and other potentially hazardous activities. Their dangerous plan involves initiating a process that targets California’s right to regulate coastal development, including offshore drilling, oil pipelines and SpaceX rocket testing. Weakening California’s power would spell disaster for the coastal communities and marine life that depend on current protective standards, and it would have a chilling effect for other states that question the administration’s proposed projects. Submit a comment now to stop this reckless plan and make your voice heard:

The Trump administration wants to hand the future of California’s coasts to fossil fuel-backed political appointees in Washington to clear the way for more polluting projects on our coasts. We need Californians to speak up and defend their right to protect their coastline.

—to support saving the CALIFORNIA COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM from being undermined, weakened, or even possibly decertified by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce or NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration)--as has been threatened by the current Trump Administration.

Subject Line of email MUST say “Support for the California Coastal Management Program.”

As a member of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) Advisory Committee, I learned about this at our recent meeting this week. The SMMC voted to send, via email, a strong letter that can give you some background (see the three page letter below). You need not write a long letter. But please write and email something!

I have placed other references from other organizations, about this same issue, in the comments below to give you more information from which to abstract.
