📱 ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIA DRIVERS 📱

PAUL MILLER’S LAW TAKES EFFECT JUNE 5

Beginning June 5, 2025, Pennsylvania’s new distracted driving law, known as Paul Miller’s Law, makes it illegal to use a hand-held cell phone or other interactive mobile device while driving. This includes when your vehicle is temporarily stopped at a red light, stop sign, or in traffic.

What You Need to Know:
✅ Hands-free use is permitted (Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice commands)

❌ Holding your phone in your hand while driving

❌ Texting, scrolling social media, or browsing the internet

❌ Dialing or answering calls by pressing more than a single button

❌ Using your phone while stopped in traffic or at a red light

🚨 Drivers may be stopped solely for violating this law.

Enforcement:
• June 5, 2025 – June 5, 2026: Written warnings issued

• Beginning June 6, 2026: Violators may receive a $50 citation plus court costs and fees.

Named in memory of Paul Miller Jr., who was killed by a distracted driver, this law is designed to make Pennsylvania roads safer for everyone.

Put the phone down. Eyes on the road. Every distraction can change a life.

This Memorial Day, the Moosic Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. Today, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to protect them.

We ask our community to join us in remembering our fallen heroes and keeping their families in our thoughts.

🇺🇸 “All gave some. Some gave all.” 🇺🇸

From all of us at the Moosic Police Department, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day
