January is Radon awareness month. This important event sheds light on the dangers of Radon, the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the United States after cigarette smoking.

ADLM Counties, Environmental Public Health is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant preferably with an Administrative Assistant degree or applicable experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience equal to five years of full-time work in the secretarial or administrative capacity for a manager/administrator of a major program area. Duties will include accounts payable, accounts receivable, managing budgets, ordering supplies, maintaining databases that pertain to the duties of the Inspectors, generate reports, invoices, answer phones and provide customer service. Successful candidate must be able to work in a team-based environment and have effective technical, written and verbal skills. Must be able to use a computer and have familiarity with: Basic data entry, Word processing, Excel, Quick Books, Email, Internet and Presentations. Valid, State of Iowa Driver's License, reliable transportation and ability to obtain car insurance at agency specified liability level. Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check.
