It’s been a busy couple of weeks since the primary and I’m grateful to continue this journey to the November election.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be out in the community looking forward to meeting more residents across our county, listening to what matters most to you, sharing the great work our Sheriff’s Office is doing, and building on programs that make a real difference.

In comments made to the News-Times, Nyberg expressed his appreciation for the support he’s received and said the experience has been “very humbling.”
“I think probably the biggest thing about last night’s results: from one end of the county to the other, support was very, very strong. So many positive comments, it’s just very humbling,” Nyberg remarked.
He added that, “The biggest thing is we still have to get our work done within a conservative budget,” adding that, “I think that was kind of the message that resonated with our group.”

I am truly grateful for this community and the trust you place in those of us who serve you.

My priorities remain focused and realistic. Listening to you has solidified all of the priorities I have mentioned in this campaign:
fighting the drug and mental health crisis, keeping our children safe, strengthening public safety with proven leadership and integrity, and supporting our deputies so they can serve at their highest level.

Let’s finish strong, Carteret County! Your vote matters and together we will keep our county one of the safest in North Carolina!

Polls are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm. Any voter in line at their designated polling place by 7:30pm will be allowed to cast their ballot.

Carteret County is my home. It’s where I’ve spent decades protecting and serving our community with proven leadership and an impeccable personal and professional record. Public safety, integrity, and service have guided every step of my career and they are the principles I will continue to uphold.

I am a candidate for Sheriff to keep our county safe, ensure families feel secure, businesses thrive, and every resident knows they matter.
My priorities are clear, realistic, and confident with no overpromising: fighting drugs, youth diversion programs, mental health pathways, and a culture where deputies know their work is meaningful and leadership stands behind them.
