We’ve had a card carrier with some credit cards & Ky ID turned in to the office. The name on the ID is Douglas Dunn & he appears to be from Lebanon Ky. If you know this individual please ask him to call our office, 606-784-5446.

Only a few days left until Sunday Funday at the Park — and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! 🎉

Join us this Sunday, May 17 from 1PM–4PM at Harry T. Clark Community Park for an afternoon packed with fun, food, music, and community as we officially dedicate Rowan County’s new Sports Complex and playground.

Thanks to the generosity of Independent Stave Company and the Boswell family, along with the loving support of the friends and family of Janie Holbrook in her memory, these new additions will serve local families for years to come — and we’re excited to celebrate them together.

We’ll have something for everyone, including:

• Food trucks from Fork and Flame, Meg’s Culinary Kitchen, and Chillbilly Ice Cream
• Kids games and activities organized by the Rowan County Extension Office
• Pickleball demonstrations and beginner lessons on the new courts
• Tennis activities with support from USTA Kentucky
• Music, open green space, and plenty of ways to relax and enjoy the afternoon

Bring the kids, bring a lawn chair, and come spend the day with your community. It’s shaping up to be a great afternoon at the park, and everyone is welcome.

Don’t forget you can vote early today, Friday & Saturday from 8:00 till 4:00 at the Carl Perkins Building regardless of the precinct you normally vote in.

Yet another scam call!!

We have received reports the last couple days from residents who have received telephone calls from a scammer who claims he is a deputy sheriff. This scammer tells those who answer their phone that they have missed a federal court appearance and need to use a ‘Venmo’ account to pay the fine or be arrested. At least two residents had some type of federal loan & it is believed the scammer had access to some of this information.

Please remind all your friends & family to never agree to give any money, or account numbers to anyone who calls your phone, no matter what reason they give you.
