Water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries
First aid kit and important documents in waterproof storage

Flood Safety (Important for Our Area)
Never drive through flooded roads — Turn Around, Don’t Drown
Know low-lying areas and move to higher ground if flooding begins

During a Storm

Bear-y Important Update!

A black bear has been spotted in the county this weekend, just like we saw downtown last year, and while that doesn’t mean it will make its way into the city, it’s always best to be prepared!

If you spot a bear in the city, please contact Morehead Police.

A few quick tips to keep everyone safe:
• Give the bear plenty of space (no selfies, please 📸😉)
• Keep trash, pet food, and grills secured
• Bring in bird feeders for now
• Never corner a bear, let it wander on its way

Black bears are usually shy and will move along if given room. Let’s do our part to keep both our community and our wildlife safe!
