Splash Pad Hours are Monday- Friday 4- 6 p.m. | Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Labor Day Hours: Monday, September 7: 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Today, we celebrate the remarkable career of Derrick Blevins as he retires after 22 years of dedicated service to the City of Morehead.

Throughout his career, Chief Blevins demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our community. His impact on the Morehead Police Department and the citizens of Morehead will be felt for years to come.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Chief Blevins for his years of faithful service and wish him nothing but happiness, health and success in this next chapter of life.

Thank you for your dedication to Morehead and Rowan County. Your legacy of service will not be forgotten.

We are thrilled to have the Appalachian Literary Arts Festival this weekend in downtown Morehead. 3 days filled with art, writing, music and Appalachian culture. Be sure to check out their fb account for the complete schedule of events.

The streets are open for traffic throughout the festival, so please remember to be careful while traveling from business to business for all the fun and to make use of the crosswalks in town when crossing the streets!

Please note that we (hopefully) will have lots of traffic in town, so be sure to familiarize yourself with your daily plans to account for time!

POSTGAME FIREWORKS AT MSU THURSDAY NIGHT (TONIGHT)

Happy Game Day, Eagle Fans!

Residents near Phil Simms Stadium may hear fireworks Thursday evening following Morehead State University's football home opener against Ohio Dominican. MSU has announced a postgame fireworks show after the game concludes.

If you hear fireworks later Thursday night, there's no need for alarm. It's part of the university's scheduled game day activities.

Main Street Closure Continues

The Morehead Utility Plant Board is continuing work to repair a broken water line near the MSU Educational Services Building. As a result, Main Street remains closed in the area.

We want to clarify that this closure is not due to a sinkhole.

Thank you for your patience as crews work to complete repairs safely.

Whether assisting officers in the field or serving as an ambassador for the department, Zeus is an important member of the Morehead Police Department team. Together with his handler, Patrol Officer Zac Cline, he helps protect and serve our community every day.
