The Thought Of The Day

The Hanukkah story of the Maccabees and the miracles they witnessed reminds us that faith and perseverance are powerful forces that can sustain us in difficult times and help us overcome even the greatest odds.

Hanukkah is not only a time to celebrate the faith and customs of the Jewish people, but for people of all faiths to celebrate the common aspirations we share.

As families, friends and neighbors gather together to kindle the lights, may Hanukkah's lessons inspire us all to give thanks for the blessings we enjoy, to find light in times of darkness, and to work together for a brighter, more hopeful tomorrow. Happy Hanukkah

Good morning..It's election day. I am reposting a statement by City of Moreno Valley City Councilmember Richard Stewart (Ret.)

Here's the following statement:

WHY I SUPPORT DARYL TERRELL FOR RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT BOARD TRUSTEE AREA 5

I have known Daryl Terell for many years. I served on the City Council of the City of Moreno Valley for 24 years and Daryl was a familiar presence at our weekly meetings during many of those years. He was an involved citizen who came to the council meetings to offer suggestions, share ideas and comment on many important events happening in the City of Moreno Valley.

Daryl was always prepared on whatever subject he was concerned with at the time.

He did his homework, researched the subject and often inquired of me as to the City’s reasoning on certain actions. Daryl is an intelligent person who doesn’t just accept the status quo, but rather he studies the facts and possibilities to come up with better ways of doing things to improve the community.

I believe he has the education, intellect, and dedication to our community to be an outstanding Trustee for the RCC College District. This is why I support and endorse him for this position.

POR QUÉ APOYO A DARYL TERRELL PARA LA JUNTA DIRECTIVA DEL DISTRITO DE RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY COLLEGE ÁREA 5

Conozco a Daryl Terell desde hace muchos años. Serví en el Concejo Municipal de la Ciudad de Moreno Valley durante 24 años y Daryl fue una presencia familiar en nuestras reuniones semanales durante muchos de esos años. Era un ciudadano involucrado que asistía a las reuniones del consejo para ofrecer sugerencias, compartir ideas y comentar sobre muchos eventos importantes que sucedían en la ciudad de Moreno Valley.

Daryl siempre estaba preparado sobre cualquier tema que le preocupara en ese momento.

Hizo su tarea, investigó el tema y, a menudo, me preguntó sobre el razonamiento de la Ciudad sobre ciertas acciones. Daryl es una persona inteligente que no solo acepta el statu quo, sino que estudia los hechos y las posibilidades para encontrar mejores formas de hacer las cosas para mejorar la comunidad.

Creo que tiene la educación, el intelecto y la dedicación a nuestra comunidad para ser un fideicomisario destacado del distrito universitario de RCC. Es por eso que lo apoyo y respaldo para esta posición.
