Roofers moved vents, left holes.
I maintain a property with 11 buildings. We had all our roofs replaced due to hail.

I've been in attics today reconnecting our forced air ducts to the new vents when I saw they moved some of the box vents near the peak and left the old holes wide open.

Is this acceptable? I'm up on these roofs periodically and don't want to step through it or deform the shingles. I didn't have my tape measure handy but it's an 10" or so hole.

Is someone trying to break in?
Been waking up with the door unlocked a few times within the last few weeks when I was sure I had locked it the day before, was leaving today and I noticed this attached to the metal part of the door over where the latch bolt goes, I tried to detach it and it was some super strong magnets, I don't know if that in combination with some lock picking tool someone could be trying to get inside? Does anyone recognize these magnets? I literally cannot pry them off each other

I have also noticed the last few weeks that the door has not been as easy to close, I assumed it was because the door is old and it was bloating or something, thank you for your help

Update: First of all, I would genuinely like to thank each and every one of you for having my back. Today was a long and stressful day at work. I spent half the time freaking out and coming up with a million scenarios as to what could possibly be going on—mostly worrying about my wife's and my cats' safety. The other half of the time, I was just trying to cope and tell myself there was a reasonable explanation for all of this. Thankfully, there is.

My wife works late, and we have quite the opposite schedules so I wasn't able to get ahold of her until now. Well, it turns out she's the mystery culprit! Somewhere at her job, she put her keys down, and that's when the magnets attached to them without her knowing. She finished her workday, left, and made her way home. When she went to unlock the door, the magnets attached themselves to the metal frame just to the left of the doorknob—once again, completely without her realizing it. And that is exactly where I found them as I was leaving for work.

So, the final question is: why have I been finding the door unlocked certain mornings? Well, ladies and gentlemen, the culprit is the same, lol! My wife owned up to being careless and accidentally leaving the door unlocked.

What have we learned? The positioning of my doorknob and deadbolt are woefully misaligned—to such a degree that I had never noticed it before, but now I can no longer unsee it. My wife is going to be extra cautious to make sure both the door and the deadbolt are locked every night. Y'all are amazing; mystery solved!

Should the installer leave gap between LVP and patio door? how to fix this? I noticed this issue after the final walkthrough of LVP flooring installation and made my final payment to the installer.

Now I feel they probably should leave some gaps where the floor meets the sliding patio door and install some end cap molding there instead? (They did leave gaps in all other edges next to the walls - which are covered by quarter round molding in my photo)

If I can't get the contractor come back to fix it. Is this something a homeowner can fix DIY? (like cut out the flooring with a utility knife and then glue down some end cap there?) This is 10.25 mm thickness LVP flooring. I am having trouble finding vinyl end cap molding at my local Hardware stores (orange & blue ones) that are thick enough to cover this flooring. (Most vinyl end cap molding available at hardware store are only 0.25 inch or 0.3 inch in thickness) I also assume using real hardwood molding at this location is going to a bad choice due to high chance of water exposure?

Lead in varnish on wood trim: if left alone or painted over, is that enough? Just bought a beautiful 1912 craftsman and the varnish is testing positive for lead- based on googling I’m assuming lead acetate was used at some point. I’m doing further testing, but assuming it has lead, is this something to be concerned about? Do I need to use encapsulating paint, or is regular paint enough?
