We have moved!!! We are proud to announce that we have moved from downtown Morgan City to our new location: 1122 Eighth St. Morgan City. We are right across from Morgan City JUNIOR High The move will improve efficiency and reduce down time that occurred in our previous aging facility. We would like to remind you that hours are by appointment only so call (985) 384-9964 for all of your Coroner’s Office related needs. We look forward to serving all of your needs and are proud to represent St. Mary Parish.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the phone number originally posted (384-9289) was the fax number. The actual number has been corrected but the call button has not been updated. So please don’t use it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And the trophy goes to C3 (Coroner’s Cajun Cuisine). We took 1st in the Berwick Lighthouse Festival gumbo cook off. I would like to thanks my team including Chuck Walters, Brenda Walters, and my favorite team member, Karen Smith Melancon. Best part was the council on aging made more $$ this year than ever before!! 🏆🏆🏆

Coroner made. Senator approved. There’s still time to get some fantastic gumbo. Come and support the Council on Aging.

Come on out to the Berwick Lighthouse Festival and support the St. Mary Parish Council on Aging. Purchase a bracelet to eat some gumbo and vote on your favorite! This is near and dear to my heart as my grandfather started the council on aging in St. Charles Parish and Ms. Beverley (head of the COA in SMP) is truly a champion for our community! Hope to see y’all soon.

Good morning. I hope everyone has begun their hurricane 🌀 preparations. Now is the time. Stay safe and God bless.

I would like to thank each and every person who came to pay their respects to these fallen and lost servicemen. It was a truly moving presentation represented by all members of our military and law enforcement. It brings pride and humility to see the dedication that these men and women have for their own as well as their country and community. Of the six indigent veterans that were release to be memorialized in Jennings, four served in Vietnam. Please pray for these servicemen and all who serve you. Eric J. Melancon, MD, Coroner.
