✨ A NEW CHAPTER ON MAIN STREET ✨

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening for Nouveau Riche at 1117 Main Street in Patterson and this one is extra special.

Nouveau Riche, which means “new rich” in French, is a handcrafted, plant-based home fragrance and cleansing line created right here in Patterson.

From Louisiana-inspired scents like Azalea, Louisiana Iris, Tee Nah Nah, Lagniappe, Beaucoup, Fais Do Do and Papa Noel, to home-cleaning products, gifts, and décor, Nouveau Riche is a uniquely Southern shopping experience and a pretty fantastic place to find a gift for someone who has everything.

But the story behind the storefront might be our favorite part. This building once belonged to the great-grandfather of the owner’s husband, who operated his tailoring business there many years ago. Today, that same family is breathing new life into the building and creating something entirely new within its walls. There’s something really beautiful about watching a piece of Patterson’s history continue through another generation.

And this isn’t just a new business owner, she’s someone who has already spent years investing in St. Mary Parish. As a retired dance teacher, she gave so much of her heart to our young people, teaching generations of St. Mary Parish students the discipline, creativity, confidence, and art of dance and has been a part of many boards. Now she’s stepping into an entirely new chapter as an entrepreneur and she’s already making waves beyond our parish.

Her Louisiana-branded products are already finding customers in Tennessee and Florida, with additional opportunities on the horizon. She also works with businesses to create custom, signature fragrances, including a special one-of-a-kind scent created for Sweet Tangerines Boutique in Morgan City.

THIS is what small business looks like.

It’s people taking something they’re passionate about, putting their creativity and experience into it, taking a chance on themselves, and creating something that can grow far beyond their own front door.
We are so fortunate to have entrepreneurs willing to invest in St. Mary Parish!
