Congratulations to Ann Sobrato High School on being recognized as a 2026–27 U.S. News Best High School!

Sobrato earned an overall score of 91.23 out of 100, ranking #258 among California high schools and #24 in the San Jose Metro Area. The school also boasts a 72% AP participation rate, reflecting strong opportunities for students to challenge themselves with college-level coursework.

The countdown is almost over!

The first day of school for Morgan Hill Unified School District is Thursday, August 13, 2026, and we can’t wait to welcome our students and families back!

Our classrooms are ready, our campuses are coming to life, and our teachers and staff are excited to see our students walk through the doors. We’re looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, new opportunities, friendships, and plenty of moments to celebrate.

Here’s to a wonderful 2026-27 school year. We’ll see you Thursday, MHUSD!

Martin Murphy recently welcomed 6th-grade students with a special WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) orientation led by 8th-grade WEB student leaders! New Murphy students had the opportunity to build connections with their peers, participate in fun group activities and games, and get to know their new school through a tour led by our WEB leaders. It was a wonderful way for 6th graders to begin building a sense of belonging and community at Martin Murphy!

We’re back, MHUSD!

More than 800 teachers, staff and administrators came together at Live Oak High School to kick off the 2026–27 school year with plenty of school spirit, great food, student performances and, most importantly, connection.

We welcomed our newest team members, celebrated longtime employees, recognized the departments and school teams that keep MHUSD moving, and heard from students representing schools and programs across the district about the impact their MHUSD experience has had on their lives.

From a former Live Oak student returning as a UC Santa Cruz graduate preparing for his next chapter, to our current students sharing their stories and reflecting on how our district has impacted their lives, their voices were a powerful reminder of why we do this work.

Superintendent Dr. Carmen García closed by looking ahead to the work we’ll do together this year — before our student musicians brought the celebration home with one final performance.

One team. Fourteen schools. Nearly 8,000 students. One shared purpose.

Incoming Britton 6th grade students gathered this morning for Summer Connection. It was a fun and successful morning meant to prepare the students socially and emotionally for middle school. Getting familiar with staff and campus, mingling with friends and meeting new people were achieved by all attendees.
