🥜 Georgia Peanut Achievement Awards

Fifteen farm families were recently announced by the University of Georgia Peanut Team for their high yielding peanuts in 2025. The high yields ranged from 4,156 to 6,794 pounds per acre.

Congratulations to Jimmy Webb of Calhoun County, with 5,731 pounds per acre in the 700-plus acreage category!

🚨 OPERATION EDISON CRACKDOWN 🚨

The Edison Police Department is launching a two-week enhanced traffic and public safety enforcement initiative from August 17–28, 2026.

Residents and visitors should expect increased police visibility and stricter enforcement of traffic and public safety laws throughout the city. Officers will be paying particular attention to speeding, reckless and distracted driving, stop-sign and traffic-control violations, driver’s license and insurance violations, equipment issues, impaired driving, and other violations observed during lawful enforcement activity.

This initiative is not about quotas—it is about safety, accountability, and prevention. Our goal is to reduce dangerous driving behaviors, help prevent crashes, and keep our streets safer for everyone.

⚠️ Please be advised: violations observed during Operation Edison Crackdown will be enforced. There will be no verbal warnings.

We encourage everyone to do their part:
