City of Morgan, Texas Code Enforcement & Animal Control Officer Updates for Code Enforcement & Animal Control for the City of Morgan, Texas in Bosque County.

06/12/2026

Good Evening, Bosque County,

🚨 New World Screwworm Awareness 🚨

❓ Do you know what to look for?
❓ Do you know what to do if you suspect a case?
❓ Are you familiar with the reporting process?

Early detection and rapid reporting are critical to protecting Texas livestock, wildlife, pets, and animal health. We encourage everyone to visit www.screwworm.gov to learn how you can help be part of the solution. At this time, Bosque County has no known or suspected cases of New World Screwworm. However, I am actively monitoring the situation and participating in daily coordination calls with the State of Texas and federal partners to stay informed of any developments.

🔍 What to watch for:
• Maggots or larvae in wounds
• Wounds that are enlarging, draining, or have a foul odor
• Animals showing signs of irritation, pain, loss of appetite, or isolation from the herd

📞 If you suspect a case, contact your veterinarian immediately and report it to the appropriate animal health authorities.

Together, through awareness, prevention, and early reporting, we can help protect the animals that are so important to our county and our way of life.

🐾Hot Summer Days & Outdoor Dog Safety🐾

With temperatures rising, please remember to keep your outdoor pets safe and comfortable during the summer heat. Dogs should always have access to:

☀️ Plenty of shade to escape direct sunlight
💧 Fresh, clean water available at all times
🐶 A safe area with good airflow and protection from hot surfaces

Heat can become dangerous very quickly for pets. Please check on your animals often and make sure they stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.

Let’s work together to keep all pets safe this summer! ❤️

📣NOTICE: Water Meter Flags📣

City employees are working on implementing a better system for reading water meters. You may notice red/orange flags placed near water meter boxes throughout the city. These flags help identify the meters and match them with the meter number tag located inside the box. This process improves efficiency and accuracy.

We ask the residents to not remove them.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

🚨Good news is we filled the truck up with tires and we lost count after 1200. The unfortunate news is that we had to close down early due to the semi truck being full.

I’m glad this was a big success and look forward to working with the company again next year for this free event.

Thanks to Steve, Eugene, Clayton, and Robert for helping today. Appreciate it.
