After an anonymous tip, Morganfield Police Officer Jeff Hart and Union County Sheriff’s Deputy James Lyon was able to make an arrest of a suspect involved in thousands of burglaries. The suspect would enter through a chimney and steal cookies around the end of December every year. The investigation has been ongoing for over 40 years! The suspect was officially identified as Kris Kringle aka Santa Claus. After a tip led law enforcement to his exact location Hart and Lyon were able apprehend the suspect after a short struggle. Kringle has been charged with 14,000 counts of Burglary and 8 counts of Animal Cruelty after leaving his reindeer on the roofs of multiple homes along with resisting arrest. During a interview all Kringle had to say for himself was “ HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
