Morganfield first grade came to the fire dept today. They got to learn more about firefighting and some if the equipment. They also got to learn some about what we do as dispatchers and what they would need to know if they ever have to call 911. So glad talking to the kids is something we get to do

Today sturgis elementary first graders made a visit to the sturgis fire dept. They got to learn about fire fighting, the different fire trucks, rescue boat and equipment. Mrs. Henshaw got to be the lucky teacher to put on all of the gear. Students also learned about 911 and what to do if they ever have to call. It was great to be there to share with them about 911 but I think the biggest hit of the day was Max the fire dog

Huge shoutout to StatFlight for brightening our day! Thank you for thinking of us and keeping us energized!

As telecommunicator week comes to an end and we've spotlighted all of our employees...we can't leave out or supervisor/director. Eva Latham Skaggs puts everything she has into dispatch and somehow still manages to be a wonderful Grammy and mom. Sometimes we all think she secretly lives in the radio room because she's always willing to cover shifts so that it doesn't all fall on us. She's always one call away if we ever need anything no matter the day or time. We are all very grateful that we have her as our supervisor

Tonight we want to spotlight Brittany Langston. Brittany is our other fairly new dispatcher who graduated the academy in February after she started with us last fall. She's another one who came into having a different perspective because she's also an EMT. Even though she works full time in dispatch she also works for Deaconess EMS. On top of both jobs she is also a wife and mother and soaks up as much time with her family as she can. Her knowledge of the EMS side of things has truly come in handy. Brittany had shown from the beginning that she is dedicated to helping others and we are so thankful she's part of our team

This morning we will spotlight our newest team member, Kayla Jacobs. Kayla comes to us with years of experience, most recently as a traveling dispatcher! Her experience as a travel dispatcher shows her adaptability in various situations. We are very excited that she chose our County to continue her career. She doesn’t do social media, so I’m not able to share any pictures. I can say she loves spending quality time with her family when not working.

If you hear a new voice, please make her feel welcome and show her how great our County is!

Welcome Kayla!

Today we want to highlight the guy of our group. Kenny Dalrymple came to us with some experience in law enforcement which gave him a different perspective. He is the prime example of "the calm in a storm" and has a way to help even the most upset callers focus on answering questions and giving info we have to have. No matter how the day or shift is going you can always count on him making you laugh. Outside of work he's a son, brother, husband, dad and bunny extraordinaire. He spends his off time raising rabbits, hunting, and enjoying time with family. Kenny truly has been an asset to our team.
