Morning Arrival Reminder and Procedures 🐾
To help ensure a safe and smooth arrival for all students, parents and guardians may walk their child to the gym doors on their child’s first day of school only. For most students, this will be Monday. Kindergarten and PreK families may walk their child to the gym doors on their assigned staggered entry day: Wednesday or Thursday.

Beginning the following school day, parents should remain in their vehicles and use the designated car rider drop off procedure. Parents will not be permitted to park and walk students to the gym doors.

Our parking lot is small and must accommodate staff vehicles, and the Pre-K families walking their children into the building, and Multi-Age students as they are traveling through the parking area. Additional parked and moving vehicles create a significant safety concern.

Afternoon Dismissal Reminders 🐾
Bus riders will be dismissed at 2:40 p.m., followed by car riders at 2:45 p.m.
If your child’s afternoon transportation needs to be changed, a parent or guardian must call the school office by 2:15 p.m. This deadline allows office staff to clearly communicate the change to the student and appropriate staff members before dismissal begins.

Please do not send transportation changes through ClassDojo. Teachers and administrators work directly with students throughout the school day and may not see ClassDojo messages until after dismissal.

Car Rider Procedures 🐾
All car rider students must be picked up through the designated car rider line. Parents and guardians may not park and pick up their child from the school office, with the exception of PreK and Multi-Age (Stewart/ Middlecamp). Car riders will not be permitted to wait in the office for dismissal.

This year, two car rider lines will operate at the same time. Students will be loaded into vehicles in both lines. For everyone’s safety, all vehicles must remain stopped until every student in both lines has been safely loaded. Vehicles will not begin leaving the horseshoe until directed by a staff member.

Please remain attentive, follow staff directions, and do not pull around or pass other vehicles. These procedures are in place to protect our students, families, and staff and to help dismissal run safely and efficiently.

Please welcome Zeneyda Hildebrand to the "Wolverine Den."

I’m currently studying Early Childhood Education at Western Piedmont Community College and truly enjoy working with children and watching them learn and grow.

A little about me, I love spending time with my husband and our four amazing kids! In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baking bread, reading, and playing pickleball.

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and being part of the Drexel family!

We would like to thank High Peak Baptist Church for providing our faculty and staff with a Chick-Fil-A lunch Thursday. We appreciate their contiuned support of the "Wolverine Den."

Drexel Dismissal

Daily instruction is from 8:00 - 2:40. Please limit early checkouts.

Early Checkouts are not permitted past 2:15 without doctor’s appointment card.

Transportation Changes: Parents must contact the school via phone to make transportation changes. Changes are NOT allowed past 2:15. Class Dojo will not be accepted the day of the transportation change. Teachers are working with students and may not be able to check Class Dojo in the afternoon.

Car Riders:
Pre K and Multi Age parents (Middlecamp and Stewart) are permitted to park and pick up their students including siblings.

All other car riders must be picked up in the car rider line.

Walkers:
Walkers are students who are walked home by a guardian.

Bus Riders:
Bus 290: Bus Driver is Joe Johnson
Bus 325: Bus Driver is Amelda Douglas
Bus 314: Bus Driver is Landon Tallent
Bus 298: Bus Driver is Al Robinson (EC Bus)

Our bus numbers were misnumbered in our system. If one of these buses stops by your house, your child will get to Drexel Elementary. Please be patient as bus drivers are finalizing routes this week and will pick up/ drop off your child within a ten minute window of the time provided. Administration will be at school until all buses return.

Morning Student Drop-Off

Car riders must be dropped off at the front of the school each morning.

Drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m.
The tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m.
Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. must be escorted by a parent or guardian to the front office to check in.
Pre-K parents and guardians must park, walk their child to the gym door, and sign them in.

Moon Dog Pizza provided our "Back to School" lunch for our faculty and staff. We enjoyed mouth watering pizza and delicious salad to fill our "tummies" before our Opening Faculty Meeting!

The Car Rider Tag is the tag that hangs from your rear view window in your car. The names and grades of the students you are picking up are written on this tag to help make our car rider line run smoother and faster for your convenience.

Car Tags will be available for pick up at the Car Tag table at Open House.

Drexel Elementary Open House is Thursday, August 20th 4:30 - 6:30. Meet the teacher, pay for rental device fee, and sign up for Drexel Recreation Activities. Bus drivers and YMCA will be available too!
