When the temperature goes up, Salt Rock Fire Department brings the temperature DOWN !!! 🚒💦🏈😎🏈💦🚒

After a hot football practice, we stopped by to help the Ridgedale Rockets high school football players cool off the best way we know how... With a little more water pressure than your average garden hose !!! 🚒😂🚒

The guys definitely earned the cool-down after putting in the work on the field. We’re pretty sure this might be the one time a football team was perfectly happy to see the fire department show up and absolutely soak the entire offense... AND defense !!!

All jokes aside, we love opportunities like this to get out into the community, support our local students, and have a little fun while beating the summer heat.

Great job putting in the work guys !!! Have a safe and successful season !!! 🏈💪🏈

And remember… If coach says “take a water break,” he probably means a water bottle. If Salt Rock says it… you might want to prepare for a 1¾-inch handline. 😂

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Marion County Until 11:45 PM.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Marion County Until 2:00 AM. Per the National Weather Service, wind gusts to 70 MPH are possible with heavy rainfall and a tornado or two cannot be ruled out! Remain weather aware this evening and Into the over night hours. Have several ways to receive updates if they would arise.

The Morral Salt Rock Fire Department is incredibly proud to announce that Firefighter ll/Fire Officer ll/EMT, Colton Breece, has officially earned the position of Lieutenant !!!

This promotion was earned through much more than simply submitting an application. Colton stepped up and successfully completed a challenging, multi-step promotional process designed to test his knowledge, skills, leadership, and readiness to take on the responsibilities of an officer.

Throughout the process, Colton demonstrated extensive knowledge of our apparatus and operations, strong leadership abilities, and an impressive ability to train and guide others. He proved that he not only understands the job, but that he is prepared to help lead those beside him.

Colton has quickly become an incredible asset to our department. He is someone who consistently steps up, goes above and beyond what is expected, and is always willing to learn, teach, help, and take on additional responsibility. His dedication to the fire service, our members, and the community we serve has not gone unnoticed.

We couldn't be more proud of everything he has accomplished or more excited to see him take this next step in his fire service career.

There’s nothing better than getting hands-on training and putting our equipment to work !!!

Today's training gave our firefighters and EMS personnel the opportunity to utilize all of our trucks while practicing drafting operations and multiple scenerios to prepare us for even the most unexpected situations.

Training like this allows our members to work together and practice the skills we may need when seconds count... especially in areas where a hydrant may not be readily available.

We want to extend a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Mark Davis, who graciously allowed our crew to use his incredible property and pond for our training. Having members of our community willing to open their property to us provides opportunities for realistic, hands-on training that we simply can't recreate at the station. We truly appreciate the generosity, hospitality, and support shown to our department and our members.
