Our very own...Mayor Frank Druetzler!

It wouldn’t be Memorial Day weekend if Morris County didn’t wish “Number 7” a very Happy Birthday – which is today. Uncle Frank was instrumental in starting our annual Memorial Day Observance ceremony outside the historic Morris County Courthouse.

The Board of County Commissioners and the Administration want to thank him for that tradition, as we reflect these next few days on those brave souls who paid the ultimate price to ensure America’s freedom over the past 250 years.

As Morris Plains celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Morris Plains Republican Club will proudly participate in the parade's opening ceremony at Roberts Garden with a wreath laying in honor of Memorial Day.

This year, our focus is on celebrating Morris Plains’ centennial, honoring our town’s history, and embracing the community spirit that makes our borough so special.

As we continue our year-long Centennial Celebration, please join us tomorrow at 10:00 AM for the dedication of our town mural—a meaningful addition that reflects the pride and history of our community.

Parking will be available at the Teen Center and the 9/11 Memorial. Police will be on site to assist with safely crossing pedestrians.

We look forward to celebrating this special moment together!

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of former Morris Plains Mayor Al Florin.

Mayor Florin was a dedicated public servant who gave so much of himself to our community. His leadership, commitment, and love for Morris Plains helped shape the Borough we know today. He served our community in many roles, including as a Councilman, a member of the Morris Plains Library Board of Trustees, a 50-year member and Past Chief of the Morris Plains Fire Department, and as an advisor to the Centennial Committee. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of service, integrity, and pride in our town.

In recognition of his service and lasting impact, flags in Morris Plains are being flown at half-staff in Mayor Florin’s honor through Saturday, April 11, 2026.

On behalf of our entire community, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We are grateful for his contributions and will remember him with respect and appreciation.

Rest in peace, Mayor Florin.
