The Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Section received a very generous $5,000.00 donation today in memory of Peter R. Cipollini.

Mr. Peter R. Cipollini was a firefighter in Maplewood before becoming a proud Detective of the Newark Police Department, and Essex County Sheriff’s Office, where he served a distinguished 32 year career. Upon retirement, Mr. Cipollini became the first volunteer with the New Jersey Cop2Cop program, a peer-peer referral and Critical Incident Stress Management service. Mr. Cippolini was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Cippolini’s sons, Peter and Ray, visited the K-9 Section to meet the handlers of the unit, as well as see a few of their four legged partners. As Peter and Ray reminisced of their father’s life, they emphasized to the K-9 Section that their father treasured his time in law enforcement and loved to help people. They also expressed that their father had a love for German Shepherds. Ray and Peter thoughtfully explained that when they, and their sisters Karen and Diane, who could not be present today, discussed how to honor their father, they could not think of a better way than to make a donation to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Section. They hope that their donation can be used to help the K-9 unit.

One of the finest aspects of being a Morris County Sheriff's Officer is the chance to showcase skills and describe agency operations for interested members of the public.
Multiple Sheriff's Officers -- including Lt. Michael Turkot, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Detective Deanna Gardner, Officer Chelsea Whiting and K-9 Section Detective Marc Adamsky, with Tim and JoJo, and Detective Corporal Michael McMahon with K-9 Kai of fame -- represented the agency at Mendham Township, New Jersey's event on August 12.
With Brookside Beach as the backdrop, the Sheriff's Officers described their duties to friendly, masked residents and met township Mayor Sarah Neibart and chatted with Mendham Twp Police Chief Ross Johnson and his Officers.
A highlight of the evening was seeing Mendham Township Police Officer Joe Wilce be repeatedly submerged in a dunking booth.
Officer Whiting was with the Morris County Sheriff's Office Hope One team that was approached frequently about its services that include free Narcan training and direct assistance with accessing rehab and recovery and mental health programs.
