WE CARE CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE 2026

We realize that Christmas can be a source of worry and stress if you are already struggling. We are here to help.

Adopt-A-Family is an income-based Christmas assistance program for struggling Grundy County families with children from birth through high school senior.

Application sign ups will be begin October 6th. Please see the flyer below for application dates, times, and the required documentation.

We have been so busy we keep going through our supply of bags. Please consider donating if you have a stash of bags. They can be dropped off at 530 Bedford Rd in Morris. Please come to our main parking lot in the back of our building off of Michael Drive.

Thank you to our friends at Constellation for coming to We Care today to pack weekend food packs from Grundy Area kids. Each week during the school year, in partnership with Morris Rotary Club and Rotaract Club of Morris - Young Professionals Division, bags of weekend food are delivered to around 300 school children.

We are so grateful to have help and support for this program from local businesses like Constellation. We also received a grant from Constellation this summer to put in new shelving, purchase bins and widen doorways that will help us run this program even more efficiently.

Stuff the Bus is happening next next Saturday July 18th at Walmart in Morris from 9am-Noon!

Please help us stuff the bus with school supplies to help Grundy kids in need for back to school.

Our friends from LyondellBasell stopped by yesterday to help assemble new pallet racking for a space we are preparing as a dedicated packing area for our Backpack Program.

This program provides weekend food for school children during the school year. We Care partners with the Morris Rotary Club and Rotaract Club of Morris - Young Professionals Division to provide weekend food support for around 300 students in Morris, Braceville, Gardner, and South Wilmington.

This new space will help us organize, pack, and manage the program more efficiently — while giving us room to continue growing and serving more children.

We are grateful for the community partnerships that make programs like this possible! 🙂
