Grundy County Animal Control Grundy County Animal Control is a government agency that consists of 5 staff members, 4 full time and 1 part time, of which 4 are Animal Control Officers.

Our job is to enforce laws regarding animal welfare, impound, catch strays, and adopt out. Provides for abandoned, abused, or lost animals in Grundy County. Enforces State and County laws on domestic pets. Provides the public with information on dogs and cats in the county. Places animals that are up for adoption. Returns lost pets to their owners. Registers dogs and cats in the county and makes sure of rabies innoculations.

🐾 Looking for Barn Cats? 🐾

Grundy County Animal Control has barn cats available for placement!

We have been receiving an increasing number of calls regarding feral cats and are working diligently through our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) list. However, we are quickly running out of safe and suitable barn homes where these cats can be placed.

If you have a barn, farm, or other appropriate property and are interested in providing a home for a barn cat, we would love to hear from you! 🏡🐈

Your barn could provide a safe home for a cat in need while helping us continue our efforts to manage the local feral cat population. ❤️🐾

This is Waffles!
Waffles was detained and apprehended last year by Animal Control for running at large, avoiding capture, and peacefully resisting an Animal Control Officer. She was eventually caught and served a 7 day stray hold before becoming available for adoption.
We wanted to take a moment to share where she came from and where she is now. Waffles is now performing tricks, agility, and entertaining people all across the country! She came in scared and timid with little direction and is now thriving! She has learned so many new skills, built confidence, and most importantly how to communicate with her owner and handler.
This is one of the many adoption success stories that shows what can come of giving a shelter dog a shot! It can be trying to bring home a new dog that doesn't know the routine, needs help learning manners, and needs to learn to communication skills but the time and effort is so worth it. Few things are better than a good dog. Perfection doesn't happen overnight but with consistency, patience, and problem solving.
We love success stories and are not opposed to anyone sharing theirs with us!!
