I had a great morning at SD 308’s CommUNITY Business Breakfast! 🍳✨

Though I had to head out early for my next meeting, it was wonderful to hear updates from district leaders and see all the fantastic progress happening across the district. 📚

Huge thanks to the organizers for putting together such a valuable event that bridges the gap between education and local community partners. 🙌

A post could never fully capture all of the incredible words shared about Robyn Vickers during this award ceremony. Every story and sentiment spoke to the kind of person she is…someone who quietly makes a lasting impact and never seeks recognition for the countless ways she helps others.
Robyn, there is truly no one more deserving of this honor. To say this community is lucky to have you is an understatement. Your dedication makes a difference every single day and so many others are better because of you. Congratulations on a well-deserved honor.

I plan to recap my last couple of weeks soon, but this deserved its own post.

Today, I was fortunate enough to attend GAVC’s (Grundy Area Vocational Center) Building Trades Open House and also their Signing Day in partnership with the Carpenter’s Union. It’s an incredible feeling to see four young individuals take the next step into the workforce and begin building successful futures through the trades.

A huge shoutout to GAVC, Building Trades instructors Wills and Pearcy, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council and our local employers for creating these opportunities and investing in the next generation of skilled professionals. The trades continue to open doors and strengthen our communities every day!

I was thankful to have the opportunity to attend today’s Grundy Economic Development Council’s Legislative Breakfast. It was great to hear important discussions surrounding our region, connect with community leaders, and continue conversations about supporting growth and success across our area.
