On Tuesday, I joined the Grundy County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Management Team and others participating in a preparedness exercise focused on emergency response procedures, collaborative decision-making, incident management tools, and strengthening relationships with community partners before a disaster occurs.

The exercise brought together representatives from the Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Highway Department, County Board, County Administration, Finance Department, Health Department, Constellation, Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), Morris Hospital, Regional Office of Education, Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), Grundy County Dispatch Center, and other key partners.

Exercises like these are critical to ensuring a coordinated, effective response when emergencies arise and demonstrate the value of strong partnerships across our community.
