It’s Superhero Day + we’re celebrating shift 2B💛

No capes.
Just real people doing extraordinary things behind a headset every day.

Handling the late hours, tough calls, and moments most people never see.

The calls that stick with you.
Voices you don’t forget.

That’s a superhero.

Thank you, 2B, for everything you do! 👋

Today we’re showing love to shift 1A! ⭐️

The voices you hear on the radio
The ones keeping track of everything at once
The ones who somehow hear “it’s by the old tree past that one house” and figure it out

Today begins National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2026. Every year, the second full week in April is set aside to honor the hard work of the very special men and women who do this incredibly important and difficult job.

Telecommunicators have faces that are rarely seen, but their voices are always heard: calming a distraught person on 911; dispatching police officers, firefighters, or EMS to a call for help; and communicating with each other behind the scenes to coordinate the responses of various agencies. Their job stresses are many, and inevitably, every task requested of them is urgent. Very few people will ever understand what they do every day, and even fewer people could actually do the job that they do.

Please join us in celebrating telecommunicators every where this week, and in thanking them for what they do every day. Thank you especially to all of our dispatchers here in Whiteside County. You are seen and appreciated, this week and every week!
