The Deloitte teams always do a fantastic job when they volunteer for us, and this time was no exception – they took the Mt. Kemble space from drab to dynamite!🌟
A special thank you to longtime HSI volunteer Joy Wodziak who helped create the plan and worked alongside Amy Susko of Country Mile Gardens to procure the perfect plants, lay them out and guided the volunteers. Another special thank you to Country Mile Gardens for sharing their tools and Landscape Architect Amy Susko with us. Amy knows her stuff and was a huge asset!🪴

We were grateful to recently have more great teen volunteers helping us out!
A big thanks to the Madison High School, New Jersey Key Club students who visited the shelter for their Day of Service. They baked some delicious goodies and helped prepare and serve lunch to our shelter guests. We appreciate MHS selecting us again as one of their beneficiaries for the day!🙌🏽

A huge thank you to two incredible partners who turned their surplus into someone else's necessity!
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. donated tables and cabinets during a recent office move, and dancker generously contributed file cabinets, rolling tables and chairs through their Dancker Cares Program.

Summer is almost here — and for the children in our programs, that means one thing: camp!☀️
For our youngest guests, summer camp isn't just fun — it's essential. It gives kids a safe, enriching place to be while their parents continue working toward stability. But for most of our families, the cost of camp essentials is simply out of reach.
We're still looking for a few more generous sponsors to put together a package of summer must-haves for one (or more!) of our campers — think shorts, bathing suits, pool towels, sunscreen, and other warm-weather essentials.🥽🩳🧴

Members of the Morristown High School Key Club recently came out to spruce up the grounds at our Mt. Kemble Home — and they did an absolutely fantastic job! From cleaning up the yard to getting everything looking fresh and beautiful, they worked hard to get it ready for the warm months ahead.🌱

Great missions need great leaders. Next up in our series is Donaldo. As our Accounting Manager for the past 4 years, Donaldo’s job isn’t just about balancing spreadsheets —it’s about managing trust. Every reconciled expense and balanced budget ensures that our grants and donations go exactly where they are needed most. By keeping our financial foundation rock-solid and transparent, the finance team makes sure our front-line staff have the steady resources they need to provide shelter, meals, and housing programs.
Donaldo loves knowing that back-office precision translates directly into "A Hand UP" and lasting housing stability for families right here in Morris County.🙌🏽
When he isn’t crunching numbers, Donaldo can be found exercising, trying new restaurants with his wife, and taking long walks with his dog.

From a delicious home-cooked meal that sparked great conversation and connection, to a beautiful pot of flowers for each resident to take home — they went above and beyond to make our ladies feel celebrated and cared for.🌷 Thank you, ADP, for your generosity, your hard work, and your big hearts.
