Great missions need great leaders. Next up in our series is Donaldo. As our Accounting Manager for the past 4 years, Donaldo’s job isn’t just about balancing spreadsheets —it’s about managing trust. Every reconciled expense and balanced budget ensures that our grants and donations go exactly where they are needed most. By keeping our financial foundation rock-solid and transparent, the finance team makes sure our front-line staff have the steady resources they need to provide shelter, meals, and housing programs.
Donaldo loves knowing that back-office precision translates directly into "A Hand UP" and lasting housing stability for families right here in Morris County.🙌🏽
When he isn’t crunching numbers, Donaldo can be found exercising, trying new restaurants with his wife, and taking long walks with his dog.

We are so grateful for the amazing volunteers from ADP who came out to treat the women at our Women's Campus to something truly special! From a delicious home-cooked meal that sparked great conversation and connection, to a beautiful pot of flowers for each resident to take home — they went above and beyond to make our ladies feel celebrated and cared for.🌷 Thank you, ADP, for your generosity, your hard work, and your big hearts. This is community at its best!💚

Always grateful for our amazing teen volunteers! 🙌🏽
Members of the Morristown High School Key Club recently came out to spruce up the grounds at our Mt. Kemble Home — and they did an absolutely fantastic job! From cleaning up the yard to getting everything looking fresh and beautiful, they worked hard to get it ready for the warm months ahead.🌱
Thank you, Key Club — you made a real difference and we love having you!

Great missions need great leaders. You may recognize our next featured HSI staffer, Kathleen🌟if you’ve recently taken a tour of the HSI properties with us.
Knowledgeable and enthusiastic, Kathleen is our Associate Director of Donor Partnerships and her own words say it all: “Since starting my role at HSI 3 years ago, I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to know our generous and compassionate family of supporters and introduce many new community friends to our important work. Together, we have worked to find meaningful ways for each to connect and be involved. One size never fits all but when you find the match, the magic happens for both our participants and our supporters. Being part of that process is a gift.”
In her free time, she enjoys any opportunity to mush with anybody’s four-legged friend, long walks, gardening, the beach, shopping and a little acoustic rendition of her favorite musical artist, James Taylor.

Another timely initiative during , with a big thank you to Creature Comfort Pet Therapy for bringing some joy to our shelter guests recently. Volunteers came with two loving and friendly pups, Gabe and Adeena!
Creature Comfort will be stopping by the shelter monthly to share the love with some more four-legged friends, and we couldn’t be more grateful.🐾
And a special thanks to one of our Behavioral Health interns, Kate for coordinating the visits and recognizing the healing power of pet therapy.

We needed to take the time for an extra special thanks to the Presbyterian Church in Morristown for all they’ve done for HSI recently!
Last month, members hosted a “Spring Fling” party for the families in our shelter and Transitional Housing Programs. The theme was bugs and balloons and there was no shortage of both! The children were treated to a super-sized scavenger hunt, a ‘dirt’ dessert station, bug tattoos and planted their own sunflower seeds.🐞🌻
They also showed up for their “Serve Saturday” a few weeks ago and helped with the spring cleaning of our grounds at our shelter and Transitional Housing. Thank you PCM for the endless smiles that ‘grew’ from the Spring Fling party and for rolling up your sleeves to help our grounds bloom just as brightly as the sunflowers our children planted!

57% of the adults served in our main shelter in 2025 reported at least one mental health condition.
As we continue to recognize , we’re highlighting the wonderful Affirmation Note Board created by Behavioral Health Services intern Jasmine and Behavioral Health Counselor Ray. With this Affirmation Note Board, our shelter guests can take a handwritten note for themselves and leave a handwritten note for others to take in different categories like hope, motivation, confidence, etc. It’s a beautiful reminder that words have the power to change a day, and sometimes a life. Thank you Jasmine and Ray!🙌🏽

Great missions need great leaders. The next person we’d like to introduce is our amazing Property Manager, Jasmine.🌟Jasmine has been with Homeless Solutions for almost two years, and the position enables her to work alongside the Facilities Department to ensure our affordable housing, shelter, Transitional and shared housing properties are safe, habitable, and affordable to our communities. Jasmine’s purpose has been to provide peace of mind to our organization knowing that our properties and tenants are being managed with confidence, integrity, and care – and she always goes above and beyond to do so!
In her free time she loves spending time with her family, evident in everything she does here as well: “As a Property Manager I pride myself in ensuring my children are as compassionate in their fields of work as I am in mine.” Thanks, Jasmine for putting such care into everything you do!
