“People don’t change.”

It’s something many of the men in our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program have heard before.

But through Christ, freedom from addiction, shame, and hopelessness is possible. Lives are being transformed every day at Market Street Mission.

The past does not have to define the future.

There is hope for recovery.

🧠 As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, one thing is clear: recovery is possible—but it doesn’t happen in isolation.

Throughout this month, we’ve shared how mental health, addiction, and homelessness are deeply connected. At Market Street Mission, we also see what happens when those challenges are met with structure, support, and community.

Men begin to stabilize.
They engage in counseling.
They rebuild relationships.
They start to move forward.

That kind of transformation is only possible because of people who choose to be part of it.

🧡 You can help make that possible:
👉 Pray for the men in our recovery program
👉 Share to raise awareness
👉 Give to support long-term recovery

We want to say a big thank you to our friend Alan and his family for making encouragement cards for the men in our Life Change Addiction Recovery Program!

Alan, his parents, and his grandmother worked together to decorate cards with inspiring messages to uplift our residents. We're grateful for Alan's work to put compassion into action!

"It's about recognizing the dignity of every person, offering encouragement, and helping others feel seen, valued, and supported," the family says.

For students who want to make a difference, encouragement cards are a perfect way to get involved and share kindness and hope with our neighbors in need!

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Market Street Mission, we are also grateful for the opportunity to serve veterans in our community who are rebuilding their lives through hope, recovery, and support.

Today, we remember their sacrifice with gratitude and respect.
