Panther Creek State Park

Panther Creek State Park Open Year Round
7am-Sunset Panther Creek State Park is located in the Hamblen County community of Panther Springs, one of the oldest settlements in the county.
(1216)

Pioneers from North Carolina and the older WAtauga Settlement in East Tennessee arrived in this area around 1785. Panther Springs, at one time, was the first stop on the stagecoach route out of Knoxville on the way to Abingdon, VA. Prior to this time, the Cherokee Indians were the most prominent Native American tribe in the area. The Cherokee hunted deer, bear, and elk to supply food and clothing for the tribe.

NOTICE: Water service throughout the park will be shut off on Tuesday, May 19th beginning at 7:30am. The water will be shut off for approximately 10 hours as plumbing work is performed for construction of the park's new recreation lodge. We will work quickly to complete this task and restore water to the park as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important step in the construction process.
