Several Lamoille towns have reserved ARPA funds specifically for expanding broadband throughout the county. Here's an article that explains what the standard (free installation) drop policy is and how you can get part or all of the installation cost covered by these funds if you happen to live in one of the few homes not covered by the standard drop policy!

Some Lamoille towns have made available a portion of their ARPA funds specifically for homes and businesses for non-covered installations.

Cambridge, Belvidere, Waterville, Morrisville, Johnson and Stowe fiber construction is well underway! Hyde Park, Elmore, Wolcott and Eden to follow in the next couple of weeks. We are on schedule to ensure over 90% all addresses in our district have access to high-speed broadband before the end of September, and 100% of all addresses by next year. To prioritize access to unserved and underserved addresses to symmetrical, high-speed, and affordable internet service—as soon as possible.

Check out this preview of a new documentary, produced by Vermont production company Well Told Films and the Vermont Community Broadband Board (VCBB), that will premiere at the Capitol Theater in Montpelier on Wednesday. The documentary, called “Connected: Vermont’s Grassroots Effort for Rural Broadband,” tells the inspiring and uniquely Vermont story of people across the state coming together to solve a community problem – the lack of internet connectivity. The film shows how hundreds of volunteers came together to make a difference and the progress that’s been made so far. The premiere is Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 4:30 at the Capitol Theater, 93 State Street, Montpelier. The public is invited to attend the free screening.
