🔥 Training Today. Safer Buildings Tomorrow. 🚪📚

Last Wednesday, the Morrisville Fire Marshal’s Office partnered with Wake County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Door Opening Industry Training Group, Inc. to host Fire Door Inspection Basics & NFPA 80 with Instructors Nicole Casa and Hal Kelton.

Participants gained valuable foundational knowledge on the inspection, maintenance, and proper use of fire-rated door assemblies, helping them better understand and enforce NFPA 80 requirements.

Fire doors are a critical part of a building’s passive fire protection system, helping contain fire and smoke and protect occupants when it matters most.

A big thank you to the Wake County Fire Marshal’s Office for partnering with us and to everyone who participated in this valuable training!

🚨A Milestone Worth Celebrating!🚨

Today, we are proud to announce that the Morrisville Fire Department has officially completed our accreditation process and received our fourth consecutive Accredited Agency Award from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI)! 🎉👏

This accomplishment represents the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our entire department, as well as the continued support of the Town of Morrisville and the community we serve.

Accreditation is more than an award. It is a rigorous process that evaluates our department against nationally recognized standards and best practices, helping us identify opportunities for continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence.

Why is this important?

🔹 For our staff: It strengthens our organization and provides a framework for delivering the highest level of service.

🔹 For the Town: It provides an independent assessment of our operations and helps ensure our resources and planning align with the needs of a growing community.

This achievement is the result of countless hours of hard work and dedication from our Morrisville Fire Department members, past and present, along with the support of our Town leadership and community partners.

📚🚒 Back-to-school bash + fire trucks + police cruisers + K9 Kearney behind the wheel?!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us and our friends in blue (Morrisville PD) at the Crème de la Crème Back to School Bash this afternoon! We had a blast meeting so many of you and getting everyone ready to head back to school.

And apparently, K9 Kearney decided today was the day to check something off his bucket list… DRIVING A FIRE TRUCK!

We’re pretty sure he’s already asking for a spot on the next shift. Psst… anytime you want to be a cool fire pup we will be ready!

Thanks for having us, Crème de la Crème! We’ll see you around town.

The final day of Camp Ignite is here, but for these incredible young women, this is just the beginning. 🔥

Over the past week, they’ve stepped outside their comfort zones, faced every challenge with courage, and discovered strengths they may not have known they had. Whether they pursue the fire service or blaze a different trail, we hope they leave knowing they are capable of achieving extraordinary things.

Keep chasing your dreams, leading with confidence, and never be afraid to ignite your own path. The future is brighter because of you. ❤️🚒

That's a wrap on Camp Ignite 2026.

For five incredible days, we watched young women climb ladders they never thought they could, operate fire hoses, learn rescue techniques, build confidence, and discover that they belong in places they may have never imagined themselves before.

Camp Ignite has always been about including girls in a profession where they have historically been underrepresented. Representation matters. When a young girl sees women wearing the uniform, leading crews, driving apparatus, and serving their community, something powerful happens: she begins to believe that she can do it too.

Every camper who walked through our doors this week left knowing that strength isn't defined by gender. Courage isn't defined by gender. Service isn't defined by gender. If they choose this path one day, they absolutely have what it takes.

If even one camper leaves Camp Ignite believing, "I can do this," then we've accomplished exactly what we set out to do.
To every firefighter, instructor, volunteer, department, and family who helped make this week unforgettable—thank you. And to our campers: never let anyone tell you where you do or don't belong.
We'll be cheering you on every step of the way.

CAMP IGNITE – DAY 4 WAS ON FIRE! 🔥

These girls came ready to WORK today, and they absolutely crushed every challenge we threw at them! 💪🚒

Today’s hands-on training included:
💦 Flowing and moving water
🚒 Catching hydrants
🔍 Victim searches
🪜 Raising ladders
🏢 Hose management on multi-story buildings

From the first evolution to the last, they pushed themselves, trusted their teammates, and proved that they are capable of amazing things. Every drill built confidence, strengthened teamwork, and sharpened the skills it takes to serve in the fire service.

Watching these ladies step up, encourage one another, and refuse to back down has been nothing short of inspiring. Their determination, grit, and heart are on full display, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish next!

Way to go, Camp Ignite! Keep bringing the energy—we’re not done yet! 🔥🚒💪

❤️ This is great news for residents and visitors of Wake County, truly showing that every second counts during a cardiac arrest. Wake County’s 15% survival rate is well above the national average of 10.5%—a testament to the incredible teamwork between bystanders, 911 dispatchers, first responders, EMS, and our healthcare partners. Together, we’re saving more lives. Learn CPR, know where an AED is located, and you could be the difference. 🚑🫀

In 2025, Wake County EMS achieved a 15% survival rate for cardiac arrest patients—significantly outpacing the national average of 10.5%.

Today, our campers dove into the world of water rescue and emergency medical care, learning hands-on lifesaving skills, building confidence, and discovering what it takes to answer the call when others need help most.

These young women continue to impress us with their determination, teamwork, and willingness to take on every challenge. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
