NOTICE OF ELECTION
Morrisville Fire District
in the Town of Eaton, New York
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners, a special election of the qualified voters of the Morrisville Fire District in the Town of Eaton, County of Madison, State of New York, will be held at the firehouse located at 50 East Main Street, Morrisville, New York, 13408 on the 28th day of April, 2026, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 pm. to vote on whether to approve the following Resolution adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners:
RESOLUTION FOR PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY
BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 62.10 of the Local Finance Law, the Morrisville Fire District, State of New York, Board of Fire Commissioners of said district does hereby authorize the acquisition of a 2025 Spencer Freightliner FL-106 Spencer demo pumper at a maximized cost of $580,000. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board authorizes the issuance of $400,000 in serial bonds of said Fire District to pay part of the cost thereof, and providing for the submission of this resolution to the voters of said fire district at a special election.
BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 176(23) of the Town Law, the Morrisville Fire District, State of New York, Board of Fire Commissioners of said district does hereby declare the following items of equipment, apparatus or personal property to be no longer necessary for the purposes of the Fire District; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board finds that items of equipment, apparatus or personal property set forth below are deemed surplus, 2008 Crimson Pumper / Rescue. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that these assets shall be disposed of in a safe, appropriate and commercially reasonable manner subject to a successful mandatory referendum at a public vote
That pursuant to Local Finance Law Section 80, the validity of such bonds or notes or any bond anticipation notes issued in anticipation of the sale of such bonds may be contested only if such obligations are authorized for an object or purpose for which the fire district is not authorized to expend money; or if the provisions of law which should be complied with as of this date are not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity, is commenced within twenty days after the date of such publication; or such obligations are authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution.
All persons registered to vote in the district and residing in the district for at least thirty days prior to the day of the vote may vote in such special election.
