The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets is now accepting applications from Vermont businesses interested in vending at The Big E.

This 17-day fair and exposition will take place this year, Sept. 18 - Oct. 4, 2026, in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The Big E is among the top 5 largest fairs in the United States, boasting an annual attendance rate of 1.5 million people, and it provides a unique regional marketing opportunity for Vermont businesses.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program will open for applications on January 15th, offering critical support for farmers, ranchers, and producer-based businesses looking to grow through value-added products. With approximately $25 million available nationwide, VAPG helps producers develop new products, expand marketing opportunities, and increase income by enhancing the value and reach of their goods.

Eligible applicants may apply for Planning Grants (up to $50,000) to support feasibility studies and business or marketing plans, or Working Capital Grants (up to $200,000) to fund processing, packaging, advertising, inventory, and staffing needs. A 1:1 match is required and may include cash or eligible in-kind contributions.
