It is with great sorrow that Salem/Morrow Fire Department announces the loss of one of our own. John was a full-time police officer, but was also a part-time firefighter with us. He got his start with our organization as a cadet and moved up to volunteer, part-time and full-time firefighter with us. He went on to work for other fire departments and serve in the military, both of which he continued while finding his home in law enforcement with City of Fairfield Police Department. He rejoined our department last year while maintaining his full-time police and guard responsibilities as well.

No matter his employment status, John will always be part of the Salem/Morrow Fire Department family and we are grieving along side his family, friends and our brothers in law enforcement.

John lived a life of service to and love for his family, friends, community and country. His impact was far reaching and he will be dearly missed. We ask that you keep his family and his public service family in your prayers.

It is with profound sadness that the Fairfield Police Department announces the passing of Officer John French.

Officer French was more than a member of our department, he was a dedicated public servant, a trusted colleague, and a valued friend. Throughout his service, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting our community and serving others with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. His loss is deeply felt by every member of our department and by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Officer French's family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We ask our community to keep them, along with our officers and professional staff, in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this tremendous loss together.

As we mourn the loss of Officer French, we also celebrate a life dedicated to service. His commitment to this profession and to the people of Fairfield will not be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who serve alongside us.

On behalf of the men and women of the Fairfield Police Department, thank you for your continued support, prayers, and respect for Officer French's family and our department during this time of mourning.

The last two days were huge for our members!

Tim Troike officially graduated from Paramedic school today! Congratulations Tim!

Lt. Trevor Porginski offically passed his Paramedic final yesterday! Congratulations Trevor!

Both members have been working and studying tirelessly over the last year. Paramedic school is a very big undertaking and requires tremendous amounts of studing, commitment, and an iron will. I could not be any prouder of you two! Keep up the strong work!
