At 0813 the Morton Grove Fire Department, along with Mutual Aid crews, were dispatched to a Reported Fire in a manufacturing facility. Members arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a machine inside. Crews from Morton Grove Fire, Niles Fire Department, and Park Ridge Firefighters launched a swift, coordinated attack and extinguished the fire.

A couple hours later, Morton Grove crews were called to a vehicle fire on I-94, again performing a rapid and effective fire attack without incident.

Thank you for the hard work and swift response from the Morton Grove Police Department and our neighboring fire departments.

The Morton Grove Fire Department remains prepared and ready to protect the lives and property of the village.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our neighboring fire departments for their assistance at yesterday afternoon’s structure fire.

Through outstanding teamwork, professionalism, and coordinated efforts, all crews worked quickly and efficiently to bring the incident under control while ensuring the safety of everyone on scene.

Members of the Morton Grove Firefighter Challenge Team completed their final runs of the 2026 season in Valparaiso, Indiana at the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series Midwest Regional Classic. The team competed in individual, tandem, and relay runs. Congrats to first timer Firefighter Zanca who was a valuable member to the team.

The following medals were awarded to the team:

-FD Showdown 3rd Place
-FD Showdown Midwest Region 3rd Place
-FD Under Age 40 Tandem 2nd Place
-FD Under 40 Midwest Region Tandem 2nd Place
-Individual Midwest Region Division II 2nd Place
