TODAY, as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting two tests of the outdoor warning sirens across the county:

The first will occur this afternoon at 1:45 PM.
The second will occur this evening at 6:45 PM.

These tests are an important way to ensure the system is working properly and ready to alert the public in the event of severe weather. Additionally, these are great opportunities for you to have conversations and exercise your emergency plans with your coworkers and family.

What to expect:
β€’ Sirens will sound for a short duration during each test
β€’ This is only a test β€” no action is needed

Reminder: Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outside of homes and buildings. Make sure you also have additional ways to receive warnings, such as weather apps, NOAA weather radios, or local alerts to keep you safe when you are inside.

Thank you for helping us keep our community prepared and safe!!
