CITY OF MOSCOW MILLS
FRIENDLY TALL GRASS REMINDER 🌿

We know the rain has been plentiful and the grass is growing faster than a teenager during summer break — but this is your friendly reminder that property owners are responsible for maintaining lawns and w**ds on their property.

Under the Moscow Mills Municipal Code, Chapter 65 – Weeds and Chapter 68 – Nuisances, excessive grass and w**d growth may be considered a nuisance and subject to enforcement.

Keeping grass trimmed helps:
• Prevent pests and rodents
• Improve neighborhood appearance
• Reduce safety hazards
• Keep the city looking its best

In short: if you need a machete to get to your mailbox, it might be time to mow. 😄

Thank you for helping keep Moscow Mills clean, safe, and beautiful. For questions, please contact the Moscow Mills Police Department.

Memorial Day is not about a long weekend.

It is about the empty seats at dinner tables, the folded flags handed to grieving families, and the men and women who never made it home.

Today, we pause to remember those who gave everything for this country and the loved ones who carry that sacrifice every day.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

🎸☀️ “SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER!” ☀️🎸
(Yes… we now officially have Alice Cooper stuck in our heads too.)

Summer break is here in Moscow Mills! That means more bikes on the roads, more kids at the parks, more late-night basketball games in the street, and a whole lot more “Mom said I could stay out a little longer…” 😎

As everyone kicks off summer vacation, the Moscow Mills Police Department wants to remind residents about the City’s juvenile curfew ordinance under Chapter 78.

⏰ Curfew Hours for Juveniles (Under 18):
• Sunday–Thursday: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Friday & Saturday: 12:00 Midnight to 6:00 AM

The ordinance applies to minors being out in public places such as streets, parks, playgrounds, and other unsupervised areas during curfew hours unless:
✔️ They are with a parent/guardian
✔️ Traveling for work or an emergency
✔️ Attending a supervised activity or legitimate event

Parents and guardians can also be held responsible for violations. The goal is not to ruin summer fun — it’s to help keep our kids safe during late-night hours.

🚔 Officers may stop juveniles out during curfew hours to check on their safety and ensure they get home safely.

You can read the full ordinance here:
City of Moscow Mills Curfew Ordinance – Chapter 78 - https://ecode360.com/36192390 #36192390

Enjoy the pools, bonfires, fishing trips, late sunsets, and summer adventures… and remember:

🎶 “No more pencils, no more books…”
…but still plenty of reasons to make good decisions this summer. 😄☀️🚓

🚔GOOD COPS DESERVE GOOD COMMENTS TOO 🚔

Recently, we were made aware of a kind social media post recognizing one of our very own, Officer Brian Johnson. We truly appreciate the support and kind words from our community!

Police officers often hear about complaints, but compliments and positive interactions deserve to be shared too. A simple thank you, shoutout, or kind post can go a long way and means more to our officers than most people realize.

At the Moscow Mills Police Department, we always want to hear from our community — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If one of our officers made a positive impact, helped during a difficult situation, or simply made your day a little better, let us know! 👮‍♂️👏

Likewise, if you have concerns or feedback, we are committed to listening, learning, and maintaining the highest level of professionalism and accountability.

🚔 Slow Down, Tropicana Isn’t Talladega 🚔

Some of you may have noticed our officers spending a little more quality time around Tropicana and Monterey Estates lately. No, we’re not house hunting—we’re there because the Moscow Mills Police Department has received multiple complaints about speeding, rolling stop signs, failure to yield, and other driving choices that would not earn a gold star in driver’s ed.

Over the past week, officers have conducted numerous traffic stops and handed out dozens of warnings and citations. Think of it as a refresher course… just with flashing lights.

If you’re in the area and in doubt, the posted speed limit is 20 MPH. And for those wondering… the old “eight you’re great, nine you’re mine” rule does not apply in the neighborhood.

We know everyone is busy. Work starts soon. The coffee is getting cold. Nature may be calling. But no destination is worth putting your neighbors, kids, or yourself in danger. Five extra minutes beats five extra points on your driving record every time.

Please slow down, come to a full stop, yield when required, and help keep Moscow Mills the safe community we all enjoy.

Drive like your grandma lives here… because someone’s grandma probably does. 🚗💨

🎉 Prom Night in Moscow Mills 🎉

It’s a big evening for many of our students and families—prom is finally here. Between the photos, the dresses and suits, and the excitement of the night, we know this is something you’ll remember for years to come.

Alongside our partners at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, our focus tonight is simple: make sure everyone has a great time and gets home safely.

👮‍♂️ You’ll see officers out and about across the area. We’re not here to take away from the night—we’re here to help keep it a good one from start to finish.

🚗 Keep these in mind as you head out:
• Don’t drive if you’ve been drinking
• Don’t get into a vehicle if you’re unsure about the driver
• If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut and reach out

There’s no hesitation needed—call a parent, a trusted friend, or give us a call. We’d rather help you get home safe than see a night take a bad turn.

📸 Enjoy every moment, make the memories, and look out for one another.
🏠 Let’s make sure everyone’s night ends where it should—safe at home

As always, Stay Safe Moscow Mills
