Middle School Acts of Stewardship

A special thank you to our student volunteers for beginning some repairs in our Environmental Center.

With some assistance with a grant from the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority, our students started repairs to the bridges to make the center more easily accessible for all of our students.

On Tuesday, May 26th some of our students spent their afternoon repairing the handrails under the guidance of Mr. Jeffrey Hatala and community member Mr. Troy Walton.

This is the beginning of several repairs planned for the center which was designed and constructed by former science teacher, Mr. Matt Evans.

We are incredibly grateful and proud of the efforts of our students to maintain this beautiful resource.

Thank you to our Student Council for organizing this wonderful event and providing t-shirts, snacks, and water.

A Message from Matthew Montoro, Middle School Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we approach the end of the school year, this letter serves as a reminder that the North Pocono School District technology department will collect all Chromebooks of current 7th and 8th grade students on Monday, June 1st (7th Grade) and Tuesday, June 2nd (8th Grade).

During the collection process, each Chromebook will be assessed for overall functionality and any physical damage. At the time of collection, school personnel will document and photograph any identified damage for record keeping purposes. At this time, all Chromebooks will undergo a thorough inspection to examine its current functionality.

Please note that parents/guardians may incur a fee for:

Intentional damage to the Chromebook

Damage determined to be beyond normal wear and tear

Lost or missing devices, chargers, or case

Repairs not covered under the district’s protection plan

Families who purchased the Chromebook Protection Plan may have reduced or waived repair

costs depending on the nature of the damage assessed.

To help avoid additional charges, we ask that students return:

Their assigned Chromebook Charger and case Devices cleaned and free of stickers or markings not approved by the District

We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping maintain the district’s technology resources for all students.

If you have any questions regarding Chromebook collection, fees, or the protection plan, please contact the middle school main office.

Thank you!
