Our weekly Tuesday night training led us to pump training for newer members who recently completed pump operations training. Senior members and Officers kept a watchful eye and mentored these members for tricks of the trade.

If you ever had an interest in volunteering with your local fire department, stop on by any Tuesday night between 7-9pm to meet our members and take a tour.

🚨 A Piece of Moscow History Returns Tonight! 🚨

For generations, the Moscow Fire & Hose Company siren served as a familiar sound throughout our borough, alerting firefighters and notifying the community in times of need. After falling silent due to mechanical failure, our historic rooftop siren has remained dormant since 2008.

Over the past several years, dedicated members of our department have worked tirelessly to restore this important piece of our history. We’re excited to announce that tonight, the siren is expected to sound for the first time in nearly 18 years, signaling the start of the Moscow Street Fair Parade!

While today’s firefighters are primarily dispatched by pagers and other technology, emergency warning sirens still play an important role as a reliable backup when communications systems are unavailable. Restoring this siren helps preserve an important part of our heritage while strengthening our ability to serve the community.

Please don’t be alarmed if you hear one or two brief siren blasts this afternoon. We will be performing final testing before tonight’s ceremonial activation.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this restoration possible. We look forward to sharing this special moment with the community and hearing a piece of Moscow’s history come back to life.
