NPI held its annual Award Ceremony on Wednesday, June 4 for all students. The awards given out were for: Academic Achievement (A average for all subjects), Achievement in PE, Music & Art, Principals Award (94 or higher in all subjects, every quarter), and Citizenship. Congratulations to all of our students!

A special congratulations to 5th grade student, Abram Williams, on winning the National PTA Convention shirt contest. His drawing will eb featured on all of the shirts for the convention this summer.

'Come! Sit! Stay! Read!' was this year's theme for NPI's 5th grade Reading Specialist Krista Seitzinger's students' end of year celebration! In collaboration with Miss Sara Lentowski and her amazing therapy dog Timber, Mrs. Seitzinger's students took turns reading to Timber, played 'Name that Famous Dog from TV and Literature', entered raffles, snacked on pup-cakes and paw-psicles, and adopted their very own dog (book)! It was a paw-sitively spectacular day to celebrate the end of a successful school year and a love of reading! ♥️📚

For three weeks in March, NPI students, along with thousands of other elementary students across NEPA, participated in "CHAMP'S Home Run Readers", presented by Red Robin. Students were asked to log the minutes they read outside of school, as part of the "Reading is FUNdamental" literacy initiative. After 21 days, NPI students placed third in the competition, reading 190,785.85 minutes! Over 230 students took part in the challenge, with Teams Piranha and Explorer having the most class participation. Students who participated earned varying levels of prizes, including RailRiders tickets, baseball swag, and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming RailRiders game! Thank you to NPI's Reading Specialists for spearheading this fantastic event! NPI students make us NP proud!!
