Someone in your community is making a difference for Washington's Veterans every day. Now it's time to recognize them.

Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Service to Veterans Awards, honoring individuals and teams who go above and beyond in service to Veterans and their families. Whether they assist with benefits, support Veterans in their communities, volunteer their time, or advocate for those who served, their dedication deserves recognition.

Award categories include:
• Superior Award
• Distinguished Service Award
• Team Award

Hello, everybody! We have a surprise Coffee & Doughnuts tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, 2026! ☕🍩

We usually hold Coffee & Doughnuts on the first and third Thursday of each month, but last week our office was in Wenatchee attending “Serving Those Who Serve.” We spent the week learning new and more effective ways to better serve and support our veterans, so we had to miss our usual gathering.

But we’re making it up with a surprise get together! 😊

Come on by the office between 9:00 AM and noon for a sweet treat, a cup of joe, and some great conversation. We would love to see you there! 🇺🇸

🚲🇺🇸 One Bicycle Can Change a Veteran's Future

Not long ago our very own FOB Columbia Executive Director Tori Douglass received an email from a veteran task force asking if our community could help find bicycles for veterans who had no transportation but were determined to get back to work.

Tori Douglass and her husband, Brandon Douglass reached out to our incredible community, and together, we collected more than 20 adult bicycles! Several were taken to Spokane, where volunteers repaired them and placed them with veterans who were actively working or searching for employment. The remaining bicycles are here in Moses Lake to help local veterans.

If you know a veteran who does not have reliable transportation and is ACTIVELY employed or ACTIVELY seeking employment, please send them to FOB Columbia. We will work with each veteran to determine if a bicycle is available.

We are incredibly proud of this veteran and all the hard work they've put in to earn this opportunity! It was an honor to help provide the uniforms they need as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Here at FOB Columbia: Veteran Resources we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make our recent windshield repair fundraiser such a success!

A special thank you to Als Glassfor hosting the event and for Justin and his team's continued commitment to supporting the veterans of our community. Through the generosity of Al's Glass Service, Inc. and everyone who participated, we were able to raise over $500 to support FOB Columbia's mission of serving veterans throughout Grant County.

Thank you to Jacob's Radio for giving us the opportunity to share our story and our vision for cultivating stronger connections and support systems for veterans in our community. Your platform helps us reach those who may need our services and those who want to help.

We would also like to recognize Steve McUne, owner of 'All American Plumbing' and his sons for volunteering their time and energy during the event. Community members like you help make these gatherings possible.

To all of our volunteers, supporters, veterans, and community members who attended, Thank you. We enjoyed serving burgers, and brats BBqd by Brandon Douglass l Real Estate Broker l Windermere Real Estate and sharing snacks, and refreshments while spending time together, meeting new people, and building meaningful connections. One of the greatest successes of the day was bringing veterans and civilians together, creating conversations, friendships, and awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing our veteran community.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

For many veterans, the battles don't always end when they come home. PTSD can affect daily life, relationships, physical health, and overall well-being. While the challenges may feel overwhelming at times, no one has to face them alone.

At FOB Columbia, we want every veteran and family member to know that support is available. Whether you're looking for resources, peer support, counseling referrals, or simply someone to listen, we're here to help connect you with the assistance you need.

Sometimes healing starts with something as simple as a conversation. We invite you to join us at any of our monthly events, grab a cup of coffee, stay awhile, and chat with fellow veterans who understand. There is no pressure, nor judgement, just a community that cares.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding PTSD and remind our veterans that they are never alone.

Tomorrow is the Veterans Stand Down and hiring event at WorkSource Moses Lake. There will be 12 Veteran Specific resources and 20+ employers. The Job Fair is open to everyone.

The fundraiser is officially set for May 30th! FOB Columbia will be providing brats, snacks, and water while you wait.

Grant County, we’re kicking off the season with our first event supporting local veterans through FOB Columbia: Veteran Services.

We’re partnering with Al’s Glass to offer free rock chip windshield repairs with any donation, all going to support local veterans.

Grant County, are you ready for an amazing year ahead?!

We know it’s already almost May, but trust us… we’ve got an action-packed lineup coming your way, and it’s going to be worth the wait!

We’ve been working behind the scenes and are so excited to partner with some incredible members of our community. We truly can’t wait to start sharing these events with all of you.

We’re kicking things off in a meaningful way with our first event! We are hosting a fundraiser supporting local veterans receiving assistance through FOB Columbia: Veteran Services.
