Orebank Volunteer Fire Department was paged out to the smell of burning plastic in a house off the Warrensburg rd this morning.
Upon arrival we found a thermostat had shorted out and caught on fire. Luckily the occupant of the home was in bed and smelled the smoke which allowed the Sheriff’s department enough time to get on scene and kill the main power to stop the fire from getting any worse.
Thanks to the Mosheim and Caney Branch Vfds for backing us up and providing mutual aid. Also a big shoutout to Greene County Sherrifs deputy and arson investigator Bryan Shelton for getting there and disconnecting the power quickly.
We cleared the scene and left it in the hands of Mr. Britt Evans who is one of the best electricians in Greene County and I’m confident he will get the homeowner fixed back up as good as new.
We couldn’t do what we do without everyone working together.

Glenwood Educational Center invited us to their water day on May 9th. The kiddos enjoyed seeing the trucks and getting sprayed. Thank you to our members that took time off work to make this happen.

Orebank on a working structure fire this afternoon on West Hogan Ln that led into the night.
We were able to get trucks on scene quickly and get it knocked down to save a lot of personal belongings.
Where this house was located made it very difficult to get fire trucks into but we managed to do it.
Anytime a single wide trailer is left standing is a win in my book.
Special thanks to our mutual aid departments for all of their help Caney Branch Vfd, and Debusk Volunteer Fire Department along with the Greene County TN Sheriff's Department, Greene County EMS, Greeneville Energy Authority - GLPS, and Chaplains Shannon and Danny Ricker.

Sorry i didn’t have time to get any better pictures I had to much going on trying to get the fire put out
