Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department has been serving Greene County since 1961. MVFD is proud to serve the community in all aspects and is ready to serve, we are so thankful to have a community that puts their trust in us! 🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department would like to pause and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Today, we honor those heroes and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage and dedication. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

From all of us at MVFD, thank you to all who have served and to the families who continue to carry the legacy of our fallen heroes.

Earlier today, Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported possible semi truck fire on Interstate 81 Southbound.

Units 2706, 2701, and 2707 responded to the scene and upon arrival firefighters found smoke coming from the rear axle area of the trailer. Firefighters quickly investigated and cooled the axle to prevent any possible ignition or further issues.

The situation was brought under control quickly, and crews were able to clear the scene safely without further incident.

We appreciate the continued dedication of our members who are always ready to respond and help keep our community and roadways safe.

Yesterday evening, members of Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department conducted a controlled burn operation as part of ongoing training and fire prevention efforts.

While crews were on scene, MVFD was also dispatched to assist Greene County EMS with a lift assist call. Members quickly responded to assist EMS personnel before returning back to the controlled burn operation.

Late this evening, Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident that was reported through a phone crash alert notification.

Upon arrival, first responders located the vehicle and conducted a search of the area, finding no occupants on scene. The vehicle was removed, and crews were able to safely clear the scene without further incident.

We would like to remind everyone to always wear seat belts and drive safely, especially during late evening hours.
