Thank you, Mayor Casey Vaughan!

We enjoyed spending some family time yesterday at Wake the Dog from the waters of the Escatawpa and Dog Rivers, and what a great event it was!

It was wonderful to see so many people gathered along the riverfront enjoying the races, supporting local vendors and businesses, and taking advantage of one of the most beautiful waterfront settings on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

A special thank you to my fellow colleague Mayor Billy Knight Sr., Moss Point Board of Alderman, the City of Moss Point, Moss Point Main Street, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, public safety personnel, and everyone who worked hard to make this event a success. From the water, the energy along Riverfront Park was incredible, and it was great seeing families and friends enjoying all that the event had to offer.

One of the things I love most about Coastal Mississippi is that while we are all part of One Coast, each city has its own unique niche, character, attractions, and natural beauty. I encourage everyone to live by our "One Coast" philosophy, as I do, by exploring and supporting all of our coastal communities. From the rivers and waterfronts of Moss Point and Gautier to the beaches, downtown districts, parks, and cultural destinations throughout the region, every city offers something different and special. Together, they create the quality of life, hospitality, and natural beauty that continue to attract residents and visitors alike to Coastal Mississippi.

As we begin this Sunday, I am reminded how blessed we are to live in a place where we can enjoy God's creation, spend time with family and friends, and support communities throughout our coast. Sometimes the best days are simply those spent on the water making memories with the people we love.

Congratulations to everyone involved in another successful Wake the Dog. Events like this are a great reminder of how fortunate we are to have such amazing waterways, communities, and quality of life throughout Jackson County and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
