🚨 Labor Day Holiday Enforcement Notice 🚨

The City of Moss Point Police Department’s Labor Day enforcement period will run from September 4 at 6 a.m. through September 7 at 12 a.m.

As you travel and celebrate, please buckle up, obey the speed limit, stay alert, and never drive impaired. Our officers will be working to help keep Moss Point’s roads safe throughout the holiday weekend.

The Moss Point Police Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Labor Day holiday!

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY | MOSS POINT HOMECOMING 2026 🚧

Moss Point Homecoming is almost here! As our community welcomes residents and visitors for activities on September 18 and 19, drivers should expect heavier traffic, congestion, and possible road closures.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, follow all posted detours and directions from officers, and drive with patience and caution.

The City of Moss Point Police Department will be working throughout the celebration to help keep everyone safe and manage traffic. Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy Homecoming!

Faith Fest Fishing Rodeo. 🎣

More than 100 people came out to the water Saturday to fish, eat, and spend the day together. Moss Point Parks & Recreation hosted alongside the Moss Point Police Department and Jackson County MS Outdoor Recreation.

Congratulations to little Phoenix, our individual winner with 4 fish, and to Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor James Holloway, who took the team title with 8 fish! The catch of the day was a 12 and a half inch redfish!

Thank you to every church, sponsor, and volunteer who put this together. Moss Point showed up!

⚠️ LOCAL EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION

Mayor Billy Knight Sr. has issued a proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency throughout The City of Moss Point due to a projected tropical storm that may bring excessive rainfall, high tides, strong winds, and flooding beginning at 12 p.m. today, July 20, 2026.

The proclamation directs all City agencies and departments to provide assistance and fulfill their emergency responsibilities as conditions develop.

Residents are encouraged to remain weather aware, take reasonable precautions, avoid flooded roadways, and monitor the City of Moss Point’s official communication channels for updates.

Please stay safe and check on family members, neighbors, and anyone who may need additional assistance.
