This morningโ€™s Community Appreciation Breakfast was something special! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿฅž

We were proud to host this FREE event as a small way to give back to the community we serve every day. Seeing everyone come out, share a meal, and spend time together is what itโ€™s all about.

A big thank you to our breakfast sponsor for helping make this event possible and we truly appreciate your support and generosity!

We also want to recognize and sincerely thank those who chose to make donations to the fire departmentโ€”even though it was absolutely not required. Your generosity does not go unnoticed, and it truly helps support our mission and the work we do for this community.

Weโ€™re grateful for each and every one of you. This is what community is all about! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ”ฅ Windy Days = Dangerous Fire Conditions ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’จ

With these strong winds weโ€™ve been having, it only takes a small spark to start a fast-moving fire. Grass, brush, and woods can ignite quickly and spread before you know it.

Please avoid burning on windy days and be extra careful with anything that could start a fire; burn piles, trash fires, ci******es, and equipment that can throw sparks.

Our firefighters are always ready to respond, but the best way to protect our community is prevention. Stay safe and help us keep Clay County fire-free. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

If you see smoke or a fire, call it in immediately.

๐Ÿš’ EVOC Training Day ๐Ÿš’

Today our department spent time sharpening our skills during EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) training. Training like this is extremely important to ensure our firefighters can safely and effectively operate emergency vehicles while responding to calls and serving our community.

A big thank you to Clay County Emergency Management Agency for make this training possible.

We appreciate the opportunity to train and continue improving so we can better serve Clay County and the communities around us.

Our firefighters have been busy over the past few days responding to several incidents, including multiple grass fires in our area.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our volunteers who continue to serve and protect this community.

With dry conditions, please be mindful when burning and take precautions to help prevent grass fires.

Thank you to our firefighters for their continued service. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

Even though the ground may seem wet this time of year, grass fires are still very possible in the winter months.

Our department has responded to two grass fires in the past few days, both caused by burning brush or trush. What may seem like a controlled burn can quickly spread, especially with dry surface grass and shifting winds.

Please use extreme caution when burning:
๐Ÿ”ฅ Burn only when conditions are safe
๐Ÿ”ฅ Keep water and tools nearby
๐Ÿ”ฅ Never leave a fire unattended
๐Ÿ”ฅ Make sure the fire is completely out before leaving

Winter conditions can be deceiving. A small spark can turn into a fast-moving fire.

Stay aware. Stay safe. Report any fires immediately.
