We would like to say a Big Congratulations to our neighboring department on being awarded this grant!

It’s always great to see funding going toward our local departments!

Mt. Vernon Volunteer Fire Department would like to announce that we are a recipient of the 2026 State Farm/National Volunteer Fire Council "Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program Grant."

We were one of the 150 volunteer fire departments chosen across the United States to receive a $10,000 grant!

Our department has chosen to use funds for safety equipment to better equip our firefighters and trucks.

🚒Exciting upgrades for Moss Volunteer Fire Department!

We’re excited to have our new air packs and get this much-needed equipment into the hands of our firefighters!

A huge THANK YOU to Turkey Creek Cattle Company for their generous donation that made the purchase of these air packs possible. Your continued support of our department and our community means more than we can say. ❤️

We also want to thank NAFECO and Thomas Ridgeway for working with us throughout the process and helping make sure we got the equipment our department needed. We truly appreciate your help, knowledge, and support!

For a volunteer department, donations and community support like this make a tremendous difference. These new air packs are an investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community we proudly serve.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors 🚒

We were glad to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in Monroe County, Kentucky during a fire.

Our department assisted by providing tankers of water to help support firefighting operations. When the call comes in, county and state lines don’t matter we’re all working toward the same goal of protecting lives, property, and our communities.

We’re thankful for all the firefighters and departments who worked together. Please keep everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️🚒🙏

Last night, members of the Moss Volunteer Fire Department responded to provide mutual aid to the Celina Fire Department for a residential structure fire.

We are thankful for the teamwork and dedication shown by all of the responding departments as we worked together to protect lives and property. Incidents like these are a reminder of how important mutual aid is and how neighboring departments stand ready to help one another when the call comes.

Thank you to every firefighter, dispatcher, and emergency responder who worked through the night. Please keep the family affected by this in your thoughts and prayers as they begin the difficult process of recovering.

This morning’s Community Appreciation Breakfast was something special! 🚒🥞

We were proud to host this FREE event as a small way to give back to the community we serve every day. Seeing everyone come out, share a meal, and spend time together is what it’s all about.
