HETTINGER COUNTY, ND-On Monday, April 20, 2026, you may have noticed additional law enforcement in Hettinger County and the surrounding areas. We participated in a regional drug interdiction operation which took place simultaneously in Slope, and Hettinger Counties.
The participating agencies were Hettinger County Sheriff's Office, Dunn County Sheriff's Office, Slope County Sheriff's Office, Grant County Sheriff's Office, Golden Valley County Sheriff's Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, and the Southwest Task Force.

During this operation, the participating agencies collectively:

* Conducted 28 traffic stops
* Made two arrests

These patrol saturation events target drug activity in our region and aim to dissuade drug trafficking. These events are an opportunity to show the public our unified commitment to keeping our communities safe. Such patrol saturation events will continue to occur throughout Southwest North Dakota in 2026.

Individuals who are charged with a criminal offense are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
