Today marked the final Commission meeting for three Lawrence County Commissioners:
• Norman Pool — District 2
• Dana Charles — District 3
• Bobby Burch — District 4

With a combined 29 years and 7 months of service, these commissioners have dedicated many years to serving the people of Lawrence County. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our community and county will be missed.

Also pictured is Commissioner Amard Martin — District 1, who will be on the ballot in the November 3rd General Election, and returning Commissioner Nathan Kitchens — District 5, who was unopposed in the Primary & General Elections.

Please join us in thanking Commissioners Pool, Charles, and Burch for their years of public service and wishing them the very best in their next chapter.

This performs technical duties in the maintenance of county buildings, facilities, and grounds.

Today marked the last day at the Lawrence County Farmers Market for Mr. Duel Borden and his wife, Mary, as they both begin their well-deserved retirement.

The Lawrence County Commissioners extend a heartfelt thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Borden for their many years of hard work and dedication to making our Farmers Market such a huge success. Their commitment has made a lasting difference to our market and the community it serves.

They will be greatly missed, but their contributions will be remembered with gratitude. Please join us in thanking them and wishing them a much deserved happy retirement!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Historic Courthouse Open House and America 250 Celebration! 🇺🇸

We were thrilled to welcome between 400 and 500 visitors throughout the day. Your enthusiasm, kind words and appreciation for this beautiful building made the event truly special.

We also want to recognize and thank our dedicated employees who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare the courthouse, organize the displays, welcome our guests and ensure the day was a success. Special thanks to Heather Rose, Karen Foster, Mechelle Graham, Robin Brackin, Jason Logston, Wendy Hazle and Miranda Napier for their hard work, creativity and commitment. This event would not have been possible without them.

It was a wonderful day of celebrating our county’s history, honoring those who served our nation and sharing the beautifully restored Historic Courthouse with our community. Thank you for helping make the day a success.
