Colquitt EMC is 90 years old today!

On this day in 1936, community members in Colquitt County chartered the Colquitt County Rural Electric Company, laying the foundation for what would become Colquitt EMC. Just one year later, in 1937, the co-op's first 15 mile stretch of power line was energized.

Since that day, Colquitt EMC has continued to grow with the communities it serves. We now serve nearly 10,000 miles of line and nearly 75,000 meters, and growing!

We would not be where we are today without the support of our members. Thank you for making the last 90 years powerful!

Emergencies are less stressful when everyone knows what to do. Talk with your family about:
• Where you'll meet if you're separated.
• How you'll communicate if cell service is limited.
• Who will check on older relatives or neighbors.
• What you'll do if an outage lasts several hours or longer.

At Colquitt EMC, we're committed to keeping the lights on. But when outages occur, our crews are ready to respond safely and restore power as quickly as they can.

Berrien, Brooks and Cook County Members! Be on the lookout for your Colquitt EMC Ballot in the mail. 📪✉️🗳️

Ballots are mailed separately from your monthly bill. For more information on the board candidates, please check out the July, August or September editions of Newsline (available on our website).

Ballots are due back to any Colquitt EMC office by mail or hand delivery by October 19.

The Colquitt EMC Bylaws allow for district director elections. This means that only members who will be voting for director positions are those who have memberships in the districts (counties) of the directors who are up for election.
