Mound Bayou Vol. Fire Department We are committed to protecting lives, property, and our community through rapid emergency response, fire prevention programs, and public safety education.

Together, we work to keep Mound Bayou safe, prepared, and resilient. Mound Bayou Vol. Fire Dept. is a non-profit organization. Our primary focus is to provide fire suppression and educational services to residents of Mound Bayou, MS and surrounding areas. Currently we have 25 volunteers serving in our department. Our primary service area is the town of Mound Bayou. The town has a population of app

roximately 1,600 people and a estimated number of 600 households. We also cover the town of Winstonville, MS protecting its population of 200. Our department also responds to mutual aid calls from the city of Shelby and Bolivar County Vol. Fire department.

The Mound Bayou Vol. Fire Department stopped by I.T. Montgomery Elementary today to teach students about fire safety. Kids got to explore the fire truck, try on gear, and even “rescue” a few classmates—all while learning how firefighters stay safe on the job.
